Welcome to the Ubuntu Georgia US LoCo Team Website!
Submitted by nick on Sat, 10/06/2007 - 16:23.Welcome! The Georgia US Team has been established in order to advocate and educate Linux users from the entire state of Georgia about Ubuntu Linux and the Ubuntu way of life.
Get Involved!
- Sign up for the Ubuntu-us-ga mailing list!
- Join the irc channel: #ubuntu-georgia on irc.freenode.net
Goals
- Create one main place where users will be able to gather and share information about the distribution.
- Plan organized activities to socialize with the group and promote Ubuntu. These events will probably be coordinated closely with LUGs in Georgia; while LUGs include non-Ubuntu users, many promote Ubuntu heavily, and are interested in working with the LoCo group on events. Events which both groups participate in will be general linux-friendly events, with a focus on the use of Ubuntu.

Submitted by jonreagan on Mon, 03/10/2008 - 17:55.The Ubuntu Georgia Local Community Team will now be meeting in two new locations, Athens and Decatur, in addition to the current location of Sandy Springs.
We will be alternating locations from month-to-month. For example, next month in April, we will be meeting in Athens. In May, we will be meeting in Decatur, and then returning to Sandy Springs in June. The planned dates for the meetings will be on the second Saturday of he month, typically at 2pm.
For those who have never attended a face to face meeting, it is a place that you can come, eat lunch, and talk to other Ubuntu users from around the state. Typically, there is a short presentation given at the meeting. Meetings usually last 2-2 1/2 hrs.
Locations will be announced soon. Check the Georgia LoCo Calendar for updates. (see left-side navigation menu, under "links")
