Atlanta Linux Fest 2009!

Atlanta Linux Fest will be held Saturday, September 19, 2009. There are lots of great sessions planned and more will be coming. Everything from popular distributions like Ubuntu and Fedora will be covered, to successful open source projects like Blender and SugarCRM.

Ubuntu 9.04 InstallFest!!!

The Ubuntu 9.04 InstallFest will be held this Saturday! We'll have free CDs, installation help, and just some time to hang out with other Linux users from around the area!

Ubuntu 9.04 Release Party!

The Ubuntu Georgia LoCo will be holding an Ubuntu 9.04 release party at Manuel's Tavern on Saturday, April 25th from 5-10pm.

Join us as we eat and booze up to celebrate the greatest release ever!

Manuel's Tavern is located at 602 N. Highland Ave, Atlanta. Ask for the Ubuntu group and bring your laptop!

Ubuntu March F2F Meeting!

Mark your calendars! The Ubuntu March face to face meeting will be held Saturday March 21, 2009 at 2pm. We will be meeting at the Athens Pizza House in Decatur (1341 Clairmont Rd Decatur, GA 30033).

The Ubuntu face to face meetings are a place to come and meet other Ubuntu and other free software users in the area. The meeting will be RSVP so I can get a large enough table for everyone. If you plan on coming, just send me an email (jreagan1990@gmail.com) and let me know how many folks will be attending.

Ubuntu 8.10 InstallFest!!!

The Ubuntu Georgia LoCo and the Atlanta Linux Enthusiasts are proud to announce the Ubuntu 8.10 InstallFest!

This event will be held:

Saturday, November 8, 10:00am to 5:00pm
at Emory Law School Gambrell Hall, Room 5e

There will be Ubuntu 8.10 CDs and support to help you hit the ground running with your new system. Internet will also be available. We will be open from 10-5, so drop in anytime you like! As always, admission is FREE!

Atlanta Linux Fest 2008

The Ubuntu Georgia US Team is proud to announce Atlanta Linux Fest 2008!

The Atlanta Linux Fest is the place to come and learn, discuss, and discover your next favorite system!

Atlanta Linux fest will be host to many distributions: Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, OpenSUSE -- all on the bleeding edge of innovation. If you are curious about what makes Linux the ultimate operating system, you definitely want to attend this event! There will be Live CDs available so you can try out the latest releases on your machine without installing anything.

There will be demos of distributions, installation help, user support for all your favorite distributions, and drawings for prizes! All you have to do is register to come (it's free!) and there will be pizza available for a $5 donation to the event.

Demonstrations will include IBMers showing off Symphony, multimedia, dual-booting for your college kids PC, Fedora 10, and much more!

This event will be held on Software Freedom Day. The Atlanta Linux Fest will celebrate the freedom Linux distributions provide and help educate users about the benefits of using high quality free and open source software in education, government, home, business -- in short, everywhere!
